JULY/AUGUST 2008
Its August! And August in Missouri is not particularly a pleasant place to be. Like most other parts of the USA its hot, hot, hot. And in Missouri one gets to add humidity. After all of the rain weve had this year, its somewhat like living in a sauna. There is one really good thing about August. Its so hot that after opening the door to the chicken house each morning (the shutters on the wire covered windows are kept open but the door closes tight each night weve been having lots of problems with raccoons), making sure they have food and lots of water, and checking the garden well, then I come into the house or the loft. JUNE 2008
Its June and my garden is still making up for the winter. Part of the reason its so beautiful is that we seem to have moved. We seem to be living in the Pacific Midwest now. Going to Festival in Chicago sure takes...(more)
March 2008
March is here huzzah-huzzah!! The grandkids and I were out in the garden the other day doing the clean-up we usually do in November raking up dead leaves, cleaning out the perennial beds and sweeping the walks. Its still a little chilly, of course but nothing like it was. Cullen still needed a hat to cover his ears. He kept taking of his regular one and losing it so we put on an old one of Zoies that ties. Then he didnt want to take it off when we got inside. My serious little grandson. (cont...)
